The Château’s architectural origins are from the buildings of Cartusian Covent, which was bought by the de Rolland family in 1492,who owned it until 1797. Moreover, Château de Rolland is certainly one of the oldest "terroirs" in the Barsac region, which obtained its own appellation, BARSAC. Faithful to its past, Château de Rolland stills keeps its proud appellation.
